A DDP quote for RDWC systems makes sense when you want the supplier to coordinate transportation and import clearance to an agreed destination. BetiLife offers single-system and wholesale DDP quotations across its four 7-Gallon / 27L models. If you have your own freight forwarder, you can also compare suitable FOB, CIF or EXW alternatives. The right choice depends on the complete delivery cost, responsibilities and receiving arrangements for your order.
This guide is for grow shops, online hydroponic retailers, distributors and commercial project buyers. Whether you are evaluating one system or purchasing inventory, start with the model and quantity, then decide how the goods should reach you.

What Does a DDP Quote for an RDWC System Include?
DDP means Delivered Duty Paid. Under Incoterms® 2020, the seller arranges transport to the named destination and handles export and import clearance, including applicable import duties and taxes. Delivery occurs with the goods on the arriving vehicle, ready for unloading.
The final quotation should identify the delivery point precisely. A ZIP code helps start the inquiry; the accepted order needs the full named address and agreed receiving point. A term such as DDP [full delivery address], Incoterms® 2020 is more useful than simply stating "DDP USA." See the ICC's Incoterms® 2020 rules for any mode of transport.
For RDWC equipment, review the delivery scope alongside the product scope:
- Equipment: model, complete-system quantity, electrical configuration, supplied components and agreed optional items.
- Shipment: carton or pallet details, destination, receiving requirements and transportation arrangement.
- Commercial terms: currency, unit price, order total, payment terms, validity and delivery schedule.
A delivery term does not add lighting, nutrients, installation or commissioning to the equipment package. Those services and items must be specified separately. Likewise, "complete system" should be supported by a packing list, not inferred from a photograph.
DDP normally leaves unloading risk with the buyer. Unloading charges may already be included in the seller's transport contract; confirm this before arranging receiving services. DDP also does not require the seller to purchase insurance for the buyer. These distinctions are explained in the ICC Academy's DDP and EXW guide.
When Does DDP Make Sense for a Single-System Purchase?
Buying one RDWC system can be a business purchase. A grow shop may need a demonstration unit, a distributor may be evaluating a new line, and a commercial grower may be testing a configuration before committing to more equipment.
For these buyers, a single-system DDP quote can reduce the number of separate logistics arrangements to coordinate. It also provides a defined delivery scope for budgeting the first order. It does not automatically make the shipment cheaper or faster than another option.
Choose an evaluation model that represents the work you need it to do. BLGX-04 can suit four-site demand or a compact display. BLGX-06 and BLGX-08 are candidates for mid-size customer requirements. A single BLGX-12 can be relevant when the project specifically needs twelve planting sites.
Single-system DDP pricing is not the same as a dealer evaluation discount. One describes the order and delivery arrangement; the other, if offered, has its own commercial conditions. Request the applicable written quotation rather than assuming that every one-unit purchase receives the same dealer terms.
For a first evaluation, identify what you want to verify: component completeness, setup documentation, customer fit or the support process. You do not need to commit to stocking all four models to begin that review. See which BetiLife RDWC models fit different retail needs.
When Does DDP Make Sense for Wholesale RDWC Orders?
DDP is not limited to trial orders. BetiLife also offers wholesale DDP quotations for buyers who prefer supplier-coordinated delivery. A larger order does not automatically need to switch to FOB.
Possible applications include opening inventory for a grow shop, replenishment for an online retailer, a distributor's multi-system purchase or equipment for a defined commercial project. Mixed-model requirements can also be reviewed against the actual packing and shipment plan.
Ask for a new quotation for the wholesale order. Multiplying a one-unit DDP price by the number of systems may miss changes in packaging, shipment size, route and receiving requirements. Conversely, a larger quantity does not establish an automatic discount percentage.
Specify whether the order goes to one warehouse or several addresses. Delivery to your warehouse and separate delivery to individual customers are different requirements; neither should be assumed to include the other. Any direct-to-customer fulfillment arrangement needs separate confirmation.
Keep the purchasing purpose clear:
- Retailers: request the model mix that reflects customer demand and planned stock.
- Distributors: identify replenishment expectations and any consolidation opportunity.
- Commercial growers: quote the equipment for the actual project phase, not a dealer inventory package.

How BetiLife's Four 7-Gallon Models Affect Your Quote
RDWC stands for recirculating deep water culture. BetiLife's standard 7-Gallon / approximately 27L line includes four configurations with integrated drip irrigation. Each has the stated number of planting buckets plus one separate reservoir. This is a 7-gallon line, not a 27-gallon line.
| Model | One complete system | Useful quotation context |
|---|---|---|
| BLGX-04 | 4 planting buckets + 1 reservoir | Four-site evaluation, compact display or customer order |
| BLGX-06 | 6 planting buckets + 1 reservoir | Six-site evaluation or mid-size retail assortment |
| BLGX-08 | 8 planting buckets + 1 reservoir | Established eight-site demand or a defined project |
| BLGX-12 | 12 planting buckets + 1 reservoir | Twelve-site requirements; account for two cartons per standard system |
For example, one BLGX-08 is one eight-site system, not eight complete systems. An order for two BLGX-06 systems and one BLGX-12 system contains three complete systems. Describe it that way so the packing list and quotation can be checked against the same order.
BLGX-04: Quote the Configuration You Need to Evaluate
BLGX-06: Separate Evaluation and Inventory Quotations
BLGX-08: State the Number of Complete Systems
BLGX-12: Include Both Cartons in the Delivery Plan
Obtain current external carton dimensions, gross shipping weights, carton count and any pallet details. Assembled system dimensions are not shipping dimensions, and net product weight is not gross shipment weight. Bucket count alone is not a reliable freight calculation.

What If You Already Have a Freight Forwarder?
DDP is an option, not a requirement. Your established freight partner may offer a useful alternative, especially if you consolidate purchases from several suppliers, already have an import process or want control over transport arrangements.
BetiLife can review FOB, CIF and EXW quotation requests as appropriate to the shipment. Having a forwarder does not make every term equally suitable, and a lower supplier invoice does not establish a lower final cost.
| Term | Delivery and transport distinction | Buyer check |
|---|---|---|
| DDP | Seller bears risk to the named destination, ready for unloading, and handles import clearance and applicable import duties and taxes. | Exact receiving point and unloading arrangements |
| FOB | Seller clears export and delivers on board the buyer-nominated vessel at the named shipment port; risk then transfers. | Main freight, insurance decision, import and final delivery costs |
| CIF | Seller pays freight and required insurance to the destination port; risk transfers on board at the shipment port. | Insurance scope and remaining import, destination and inland charges |
| EXW | Seller makes goods available at the named place, without an obligation to load or clear export. | Collection, loading, export capability and the onward delivery plan |
FOB and CIF are sea or inland-waterway rules, not general labels for air or courier shipments. For containerized or multimodal transport, discuss whether FCA at a named handover point is more appropriate. FCA also provides for seller export clearance, which can make it more practical than EXW for an international collection. See ICC Academy: FCA versus FOB.
CIF is not equivalent to delivery to your warehouse with import taxes paid. The seller arranges the main sea carriage, so CIF is also different from having your forwarder control that entire leg. Its required insurance is minimum cover unless broader protection is agreed. See ICC Academy: CIF and insurance responsibilities.
How to Compare DDP With Your Forwarder's Total Cost
Request comparisons for the same model list, quantities, configuration, packing requirements and final receiving point. Identify differences in transport method, expected timing, insurance and services before comparing totals.
DDP comparison total: the written DDP order total plus separately agreed buyer-side services not already included.
Alternative-term comparison total: the supplier quotation plus every remaining buyer-paid cost needed to reach the same receiving point.
Ask your forwarder to identify the remaining amounts, including:
- Collection, origin handling and export-related costs not already covered by the supplier's term.
- International freight, transport surcharges and the chosen insurance.
- Import brokerage, applicable duties, taxes and other required import charges.
- Destination handling, final delivery and agreed receiving services.
Mark each item as included, separately payable or awaiting confirmation. Do not count CIF sea freight twice, and do not treat an unanswered destination-charge question as a zero. For DDP, do not add import duties again as if they were routinely payable outside the seller's obligation.
As a comparison exercise, suppose you are buying two BLGX-08 systems for one warehouse. Ask BetiLife for that exact DDP order and a suitable alternative quote. Give the identical packing information and address to your forwarder. Compare the completed totals and service scopes; the difference between the two supplier invoices alone is not your saving.
Then consider coordination time, risk transfer and the claims process separately. These can influence your choice without assigning them an invented dollar value. A repeat importer with consolidation capacity may prefer the alternative; another buyer may value the supplier-coordinated arrangement. Neither result is universal.

What Should You Confirm Before Accepting a DDP Quote?
A useful quotation is specific enough for purchasing, logistics and receiving teams to work from the same document. Confirm these points before placing the order:
- Equipment scope. Check model codes, quantities, voltage, frequency, plug type, component list and optional items.
- Named destination. Confirm the full address, receiving point, contact and any access restrictions.
- Receiving services. State whether the location has a dock or forklift, and whether an appointment, liftgate or inside handling is needed.
- Import arrangement. Identify the importer of record, customs representative and information each party must provide. Ask the responsible customs professional to confirm the arrangement is workable.
- Price and validity. Review currency, unit and order totals, payment terms, validity and how proposed changes require agreement.
- Schedule. Separate equipment preparation from estimated transit and final delivery. A shipping estimate is not an unconditional arrival guarantee.
- Exceptions and claims. Agree how damage, missing cartons, failed delivery attempts and exceptional charges will be documented and handled.
- After-sales scope. Confirm setup guidance, component coverage and responsibility for replacement-parts freight or labor under the applicable support terms.
A quote described as standard DDP should not quietly exclude import clearance or applicable import duties and taxes. If the proposed allocation differs, clarify the wording and the appropriate trade term before accepting it. If the seller cannot perform the required import formalities, discuss a workable alternative rather than relying on the DDP label.
Freight, customs and tax treatment must be checked for the actual goods and shipment. This article does not assign a tariff code, duty rate or importer status to your order. Use qualified customs and logistics professionals for shipment-specific confirmation.
On arrival, count cartons against the packing list and record visible damage or discrepancies promptly through the agreed process. For BLGX-12, checking one box does not establish receipt of the complete two-carton system.
How to Request a Single-System or Wholesale DDP Quote
Send five pieces of information to begin:
- Business use: store evaluation, resale inventory, distribution or your own growing project.
- Models and quantities: complete systems required for each model.
- Destination: country, city, state and ZIP code.
- Timing: your target receiving date or project schedule.
- Logistics preference: DDP, an alternative using your forwarder, or both for comparison.
Provide the full delivery address and receiving details before the quotation is finalized. If you already know the configuration, request it directly. If not, describe the intended planting-site count and usable space so the product choice can be reviewed first.
Copy and adapt this inquiry:
Please quote [quantity] complete BetiLife [model] RDWC systems for [evaluation / resale / project use], delivered DDP to [city, state, ZIP code, country]. Our target receiving date is [date].
We [have / do not have] our own freight forwarder. Please advise a suitable alternative quotation if relevant. Include the equipment scope, packing details, delivery scope, estimated lead time and quotation validity.
Published retail prices, evaluation offers and wholesale DDP prices serve different purposes. Request the current order-specific price rather than treating a retail listing as a nationwide delivered quotation. A confirmed DDP figure should remain attached to its quantity, destination, receiving assumptions and validity.
Frequently Asked Questions About RDWC DDP Quotations
Can I request DDP delivery for one RDWC system?
Yes. BetiLife offers single-system DDP quotations for the four standard 7-gallon models. Send the model and destination for confirmation of the applicable price, service availability and delivery conditions.
Does BetiLife offer wholesale DDP pricing?
Yes. Wholesale DDP quotations are available for order-specific review. Provide quantities per model and delivery requirements. Do not calculate a wholesale offer by simply multiplying a previous one-unit quote.
Is a one-system DDP price a dealer evaluation price?
Not automatically. DDP describes the delivery arrangement. Any dealer evaluation conditions or discounts must be confirmed separately and do not establish permanent inventory pricing.
Can using my own freight forwarder save money?
It may, particularly when your forwarder can consolidate purchases or use an existing logistics arrangement. Compare the complete cost to the same destination, including remaining import and delivery charges. Savings are not guaranteed by choosing a different trade term.
Is CIF the same as DDP delivery to my warehouse?
No. CIF covers seller-arranged sea freight and required insurance to the destination port, with risk transferring at shipment. It does not provide the same import-cleared delivery scope as DDP to a named warehouse.
Does DDP include unloading and installation?
Installation is not included merely because the order is DDP. Unloading arrangements and any included unloading charges must also be confirmed. Ask specifically about receiving services instead of assuming that "door-to-door" includes indoor placement or setup.
Why do you need my ZIP code and receiving details?
The destination and site access help define the transport and delivery service being priced. Warehouse, residential and access-restricted locations may need different arrangements. The final order must specify the full agreed delivery point.
Can I compare DDP and an alternative for the same order?
Yes. Send one consistent model list, quantity and destination, and mention your forwarder's role. BetiLife can review appropriate quote options; your forwarder should identify the costs and services still required under the alternative.
